About Asantewa Counselling & Wellness
Meet Augusta Bentil, MSW, RSW
A Registered Social Worker committed to creating a safe, compassionate and culturally responsive space where clients feel seen, heard, respected and supported.

My story
Clinical Experience & Lived Understanding
I'm Augusta Bentil, MSW, RSW, founder of Asantewa Counselling and Wellness and a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
My professional experience spans school social work, homelessness and housing services, addictions, gender-based violence, and community-based support. I have worked with diverse children, youth, adults, and families from a wide range of cultural, social, and life circumstances, supporting individuals navigating trauma, emotional distress, anxiety, family and relationship challenges, addictions, disability, systemic barriers, displacement, and significant life transitions.
In my work within schools, I support children and youth experiencing emotional and behavioural concerns, academic pressures, family conflict, school-related challenges, and other social and emotional difficulties. Across my practice, I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach, recognizing each person's unique experiences, strengths, needs, and goals.
As a Black immigrant woman, I also bring lived understanding of migration, cultural expectations, racism, intergenerational differences, and navigating multiple identities and responsibilities. These experiences have deepened my commitment to providing counselling that is compassionate, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and free from judgment.
I believe meaningful counselling begins with feeling seen, heard, and respected. My role is to create a welcoming space where you can explore your experiences, build on your strengths, and work toward the changes that matter to you.
